Alexa devices need a stable Wi-Fi connection to function. Follow these steps to connect your Echo device to your home network smoothly.
Open the Alexa app on your phone and navigate to Devices
Select your Echo device from the list and tap Change Wi-Fi
Put your Echo in setup mode — the light ring will glow orange
Choose your Wi-Fi network, enter the password, and confirm
Echo Dot does a great job registering commands, but sometimes issues arise. Here's how to fix the most common ones quickly.
Use the voice training tool inside the Alexa app. Navigate to Settings → Your Profile → Voice Training to help Alexa better recognise your speech patterns and accent over time.
Try a hard-reset of both your Echo Dot and your smartphone. Then disconnect and reconnect the smart home devices within the Alexa app to fully restore control.
An orange light indicates Wi-Fi issues. Power-cycle your Echo, modem, and router. Then use the Alexa app's Change Wi-Fi option to reconnect the device to your network.
